Choosing the Right Vacuum Tumbler: TM Series vs. TMC Series

Posted by admin

When it comes to vacuum tumbling technology, choosing the right equipment can significantly impact the quality, texture, and flavor absorption of your product. Promarks offers two distinct series—TM and TMC—each designed to suit different processing needs. In this blog, we’ll break down the key differences between the TM Series, which features continuous vacuum monitoring and multi-stage cycles, and the TMC Series, a more economical, single-cycle classic model. Whether you’re looking for advanced meat tenderizing capabilities or a straightforward solution, understanding these differences will help you make the best choice for your operation.

Continuous vs. Non-Continuous Vacuum Tumblers: What’s the Difference?

TM150-1000

  1. “TM” Tumblers have continuously monitored vacuum pressure. Using a vacuum sensor control unit, the drum will have a preset max vacuum pressure that when achieved will stop the vacuum pump and continue tumbling the product. In the event the vacuum pressure drops below a preset minimum, the vacuum pump will automatically turn back on and return the vacuum pressure to the preset max limit.
  2. The “TM” uses an internal snorkel, inside the drum, to pull the vacuum. This is how the pressure is able to be monitored.
  3. The “TM” is capable of multi stage vacuum and rest. This feature allows the ability to pull a vacuum and tumble for a set time then release the vacuum and rest for a set time. You are able to do this multiple times. This vac rest vac rest option actually tenderizes the meat. When meat is put under a vacuum, it expands under the pressure and slightly breaks the tissue down and allows deep penetration of your marinade. Doing this multiple times in the same cycle creates a tenderizing effect.
  4. “TM” tumblers come with a multi-program control board capable of pre-setting vacuum time, rest time and quantity of cycles needed.

TMC150-1000

  1. “TMC” C for classic, uses an external hose to pull a vacuum on the drum and after the vacuum is complete, the valve is closed and the hose is returned to its holder.
  2. “TMC” tumblers are a single cycle operation. After you pull a vacuum, you would set the timer to the desired time and start the machine. After the time is expired on the timer the drum will vent the vacuum and the cycle is complete.
  3. “TMC” tumblers are a simple operation but are not capable of multi-stage vac rest. But perfect when multi-stage is not required.
  4. One additional benefit of the “TMC” is an economical price.
